Recognising the fragility of the India's wilderness, Helmet Stories committed to minimising our environmental impact. We keep our groups small so as to have as little impact on the environment as possible, use dedicated campgrounds and all litter is removed and recycled where possible. No local wood is used for cooking where deforestation is an issue and we encourage the use of renewable energy resources. We make sure that our local staff are well treated and well paid, we respect indigenous cultures, take care to protect the environment of the places we visit and take every opportunity to make a positive contribution wherever we travel. It is important to us that our clients are not the only beneficiaries of the travel experience, but that we share a two-way relationship with the people and communities that we visit on our travels. Tourism is a very important source of income for the areas we visit but we must take steps to ensure this does not come at a high price to the communities we visit.
